| Doubt it. Kevin didn't really seem to be able to play worth a shit back then, plus it was a duo. Warren and Kevin are completely different. Warren and George are similar as far as playing goes. It's not like AM! is turning into Spinal Tap or anything, going through drummers like water. Oh shit...wait |

| i'm guessing he just hasn't learned the old songs yet give the man some time. he's gotta learn the new ones first so they can record. abandoning four records of songs just because you lose a drummer sounds illogical and ridiculous to me _________________ You're teaching your kids to repeat what you did growing up as a dickhead yourself.

It was a secret show. People are lucky they even heard of it and had a chance to go. I'm sure they wanted to have a chance to perform the new songs they've been working on in front of an audience. If they had told people about this show months in advance and people had to buy tickets, I'm sure they would have played older shit. Who cares. |

| To answer questions, I don't think they changed white crosses but not sure, Vicious will know. I don't know the first version of Rice and Bread so I can't answer that one Davy... |

| I would have liked to have seen this. George seems like a cool dude. Boca Fiesta sounds tasty. I'm sure the reworked songs sound awesome. All of their final products sound better as opposed to the demos anyways. |

White Crosses was changed a little bit, but only for the better. I don't think any of the lyrics changed, I just know that building intense feeling it has only got more built and intense this time.
Show was awesome! Boca Fiesta was awesome! I had an ostrich taco and a alligator burrito!
Didn't play Girl I Used to Love, so that was a bummer, but I really dig all the new stuff. I think they did one cover, lyric was something like "standing there with a lit cigarette" at the beginning. Anyone know what song that is?
Hanging out with Ian was awesome! All the kids that were totally bummed because it was all new songs were hilarious. Anyone that didn't know it's not the Crime/RAR era any longer should get with the times and move on.
I'd like to ad that I don't get the philosophy behind "secret" shows. I mean I get if it is at Atom's house and we don't want cops breaking it up or something, but to have it at a venue and planned in advance is kinda weird. I sure did appreciate the $5 ticket price after paying for all that gas though. Shortly after I got in the venue Tom and I saw each other and the first thing he said was, "did you see I put you on the list?" So I guess that was $5 I didn't need to spend.
Andrew made the flyer for the show. It's pretty bitchin' and I will scan and upload it at school tomorrow. TEEN WOLF. Haha. I told him about Jordan Buckley's tour poster for ETID's recent tour of England having the American Werewolf theme on it.
Since I know everyone was dying to know, I asked Andrew about the footage Justin shot at the 1231 house show. He said he thinks Tom has it, and will track it down for me and either dub me a copy or upload it.
All the songs sounded super tight. As previously mentioned some were largely different from the SE small venue tour sound.
Someone had posted that AM!'s demos were never as good as the cuts that go on the albums. What are you smoking? The stolen demo is 10x great than the cuts that went on SFAFC, and with that said, SFAFC is prolly one of my fav AM! albums. I'm glad that the small venue tour was so thoroughly recorded though, now we can have at least 2 versions of each song.
Oh yeah, and for all those that love this sort of arcane knowledge: last night wasn't AM!'s first show with George. Last Tuesday after practicing they stopped at a bar near their practice space. They were having some sort of open mic jam band thing and got up there and played White Crosses and Rapid D (I think those are the songs I was told). There were like 10 rednecks in the audience and when they were done playing they told AM! that they were "pretty good. Y'all sound like the Sex Pistols." Fucking hilarious.
Averkiou was awesome! I got my dance on with some chicks that Ian and I met there and it was a lot of fun.
I ended up crashing at 1231 house again. Thanks Atom and crew! _________________ "My philosophy, in essence, is the concept of man as a heroic being, with his own happiness as the moral purpose of his life, with productive achievement as his noblest activity, and reason as his only absolute." - Ayn Rand

Nope. I'm not saying that AM! shouldn't be playing or isn't going to play those songs any more (I'll be majorly bummed if they don't). I'm saying that if you can't come out to a show you paid $5 for and hear brand new unrecorded songs from an excellent bad and just enjoy it rather than getting a total "but ANARCHY!" attitude when no older songs are played needs to grow up and on to the next "only band that matters". Those kids are bigger tools than a hammer. _________________ "My philosophy, in essence, is the concept of man as a heroic being, with his own happiness as the moral purpose of his life, with productive achievement as his noblest activity, and reason as his only absolute." - Ayn Rand

| Vicious was the cover bob dylan, Talkin world war III blues? Well, I got up and walked around And up and down the lonesome town. I stood a-wondering which way to go, I lit a cigarette on a parking meter And walked on down the road. It was a normal day. Well, I rung the fallout shelter bell And I leaned my head and I gave a yell, "Give me a string bean, I'm a hungry man." A shotgun fired and away I ran. I don't blame them too much though, I know I look funny. Down at the corner by a hot-dog stand I seen a man, I said, "Howdy friend, I guess there's just us two." He screamed a bit and away he flew. Thought I was a Communist. thats just part of the song but the cigarette part sounded familiar. and btw, your show recaps are fucking awesome. consistently awesome. _________________ "I remember wishing that God would send some angels and blow this whole fuckin town right into the sea" http://www.mediafire.com/?8mtnhtgjnjx <--the greatest version of "Backstreets" ever. |

| Nope, that wasn't the song. I was thinking maybe it was a HWM song because the ACRs seemed to know it. _________________ "My philosophy, in essence, is the concept of man as a heroic being, with his own happiness as the moral purpose of his life, with productive achievement as his noblest activity, and reason as his only absolute." - Ayn Rand
