| 100 Years of War > Harsh Realm > Anna I really don't like Anna as it is, I think it's too much like talking and really doesn't go with a song rhythm as it is. They'll all be tweaked and re-done for full band/album versions and they'll probably be better than they are now. _________________ never stop

| I think I like all of the songs from the Tom Gabel solo show the same; they all have something really great and different about them that stands out. I just find myself listening to Anna the most, the story is interesting to me. I think the words flow fine. |

| my fav from emos is either conceptual paths or random hearts i dont know why though, they are all really really good and it will be interesting if the were recorded to see if they would stay acoustic or become electric. _________________ |

| 100 years of war is for sure my favourite of the Emo's tracks. Not only does it have a great message and lyrics, but i reckon it's just a showcase of how far Tom's has evolved from a melody standpoint. just the way it flows, especially the chorus, is so dope. everytime i listen to it i hum it for days |

| alright its time for some pessimism. I dont like it wahaha wahhah *baby cries* i liked graceful confession acoustic but when i heard "rock and rollers" i died on the spot. i think that all the acoustic will go electric becu\ause they are more accessibly and they have to cater to a more diverse, less against me nerd (like us) audience. but i mean its still a fun listen. i like so much more and rock and rollers more than animal and ocean and borne. so you know what. the days of the acoustic ep are over. but like andrew said "we dont copy anyone, especially ourselves" cuase if u look at it, each release is a complete new direction from the previous. new wave was a bad direction in my not humble opinion, but, with these new songs they are turining in a better direction. i guess what im saying, is the lyrics arent about anarchy and dont mean as much to me, and its more polished, but i gotta admit its catchy and fun and i like it. i hate to love the new songs, but i do. as long as there is nothing like animal, ill be much happier than when i heard new wave. against me is changing and its not longer a anarchofolk punk band in a laundromat playing on pickle barrels. its less about the ideal of being and anarchist and more about the music. i guess. idk do you? but i would pay tom over $20 and give him my 1st borne child if he made 12 songs in teh style of disco ep. (but then again, those 3 songs are the best thing apart from jesus that ever came to this world, so maybe leave them alone" |

| Well I don't think we can say for a fact that he'll change all the Emo's songs from acoustic to electric just because it'd be more accepted by a wide audience. Tom will do whatever he wants to do with the songs, no matter what people think. And he's said that most of their songs have two versions anyway, electric and acoustic. |

agreed. i just listened to stool pigeon. i realized the difference between his new acoustic songs and his old ones. musically, the older songs were basic open chords or bar chords. all major chords usually, unless an em or am thrown in. like almost every song on RaR comes from the pool of chords "Gmaj, Cmaj, Amin, Fmaj, Emaj or E min." very simple. WE laugh at danger is all major chords. anyway the different now. is there is more of a theme in the newer songs, having a more diverse style of chords, and having changes from major to minor chords more common. and also having a more complex song structure with not simpliy having a measure of Gmaj, a measure of Cmaj repeated. Chords now last from 2 measurs to half a measure. all this means that theres a much greater palate tom is painting his music with. and thats why the songs seam so much more catchy and well diffrent from the old stuff. instead of just having toms vocal and simple major key open chords, theres a guitar part that can convey emotion and mood that compliments his vocal. I just listend to anna and i have a greater appreciation for his newest work cause i now understand why its different. which i feel is for the better.
oh i also want a song sung by james. it would be so sexy. or a song that is only warren drumming and andrew crowd srufing. |

| i think the tracks from emos are just gonna stay as tom's stuff cause he said he wanted to record something to have with him when he does the revival tour so it would be awesome if he recorded some of those songs _________________ It was nice to believe for a while...
