Haha I just came across these videos that I hadn't watched in foreverrr. I love finding old interviews I'd forgotten about. Tom looks different to me now without facial hair.

Ooooh, there's a full page picture of AM! in the new AP magazine, because they're on the list for the most anticipated albums of 2009. I don't have a scanner, but I'll type up what the paragraph says on the page.

"'I feel like I gave it my fucking all writing New Wave,' says Against Me! braintrust Tom Gabel from the parking lot of the Black Cat in Washington, D.C. 'It's daunting and a little intimidating thinking I'm gonna have to push myself harder to write a better record.' The sociopolitical punk quartet - who, as usual, spent much of this year on the road - plan to start writing in earnest come the new year, with tentative plans to begin recording in late spring. But all of that depends on this month's cover stars, 'As long as Butch [Vig] wants to make records with us, we want to make records with him,' he says of the producer currently helming Green Day's latest. 'You can basically schedule the Against Me! record about six to eight months after the release of the Green Day record.' And just what will that record sound like? 'I want it to be the next logical step, and I want it to be something different,' Gabel explains. 'I can guarantee it won't sound like New Wave, and I can guarantee it won't sound like anything we've done before.'"

Thanks, Lauren, for letting us know this was out there!!

I followed my typical routine of going to the same magazine shop and purchasing 4 copies. The first few times shopping there I had explained to the clerk why I needed so many (and showed off all the photos of the band).

Today I opened to the photo and pointed from the page to real life Warren... almost like a Vanna White motion - so the clerk got all excited "your mom comes in here all the time, I've seen so many pictures of you it's almost like I know you" and various other comments that totally embarrassed Warren... even though he should be used to my behaviour by now.

Here's the article to go with the text Lauren posted earlier:

Thanks for posting the picture, Drumma. That's funny that you did that to Warren..hahah. How cute. I think that the picture in AP must have been taken during Warped Tour..look at Andrew's crazy beard!

In another section of the AP magazine, they had a little sidebar about problems various bands had last year... accidents, arrests, etc.

The AM! "seeing you on the flipside" photo caption seems a bit cheezy, and although accurate they should have said NO injuries instead of "without major" ... but maybe I'm just bitter that they didn't re-use the stolen drumma quotes for their story.

Have you noticed that almost every time they're in AP magazine, they're referred to as "socio-political punk act"?

you're both wrong. it's going to have Bjork-style mix of electronica and nature sounds.

Has anyone ever heard Lou Reed's Metal Machine Music? It'll be like that, only a triple album.
