Great achievment for Schteve. On the other side of the coin, City's relegation was confirmed this weekend. Those of us unfortunate enough to have watched them every week knew it was inevitable anyway.

Anyone watching the Cup Final today? I think Chelsea will win comfortably. I'm thinking about betting on the scoreline, Chelsea to win by 4.

It was on ITV. Not sure about in the Netherlands. It was only 1-0, a lot tighter in terms of scoreline but Chelsea were deserved winners. They hit the woodwork 5 times in the first half, and both sides missed penalties.

That Boateng guy could be a fantastic player. One of the most skillful players I've seen, he has the power he just needs a good enough manager to get him to apply it.

But yeah, Chelsea deserved it today.

I hate transfer rumors. I think I'm going to delete my subscriptions to football blogs this summer and just be surprised when I hear (x) player went to (y) team.

Congrats to Chelsea for a good season.

Inter will follow up with the scudetto this weekend, and will finally win the CL this week. I'm excited!

I really hope that Bayern beat Inter in the Champions League Final. Mourinho's celebration after winning at the Nou Camp just summed up everything I dislike about the bloke. He's perfect for Real Madrid, as neither he or the club have any class about them despite what they'd have you believe.

Tbf Barca have none either, team of cheats that laud themselves as football martyrs.

Agree Mourniho is a twat and perfect for Madrid though.

Well, no, probably not but I prefer their ethos of bringing players through the ranks there rather than spending mega bucks everytime they finish 2nd.

Mourinho is a cocky bastard but he's a winner. I don't see how Real will win even with Mourinho though.

congratulations to Barcelona. Another great season, so sad to not see them playing in the CL final. I would have loved to see them win it in the Bernabeu.

I'm curious as to why you think they are cheats?

Sergio Busquetts mainly, they're no worse than the majority of top teams but its just the hypocrisy that gets me. Like when arsenal moan when teams foul them but break the rules by diving, just doesn't add up.

Can't wait for the world cup though, I'm hoping we (england) get a good run going will be nice to support the same team as the majority of the friends I argue with in club season.

I feel largely disconnected from the current England team. Don't get me wrong, I'm excited for the World Cup and will be delighted should we win it and just as gutted after ou inevitable penalty shoot out exit in the quarter final but I have so many reasons to dislike nearly every single member of England's probable starting eleven. I don't get people who prefer watching internationals. I've been watch England games a few times and it's nowhere near as intense as watching City. I'd prefer success at club level over a World Cup win, but hopefully as I didn't get that from City this year, England will deliver.

I see it. They are my favorite team but he is the only one that I don't see why he is in the starting XI so often. I think he is hugely overrated.

I prefer club level as well, but it's intense to follow your country. Where everyone puts there differences aside and are after the same cause.

You'd think that when your club becomes champions there would be quite some players in our national squad, right?

Wrong. Only one, our goalkeeper is the third goalkeeper for the country. What the crap do you have to do to get some attention? We've been second twice and champions this year and still only ONE player gets called up.

Aren't most of the national team playing in foreign leagues? No offence mate but the dutch league is a bit behind these days. Similar story in Brazil, Argentina, most African countries, France to a certain extent. The only countries that seem to retain their best players are England, Italy and Spain really.

Well, most of our attackers play in other countries, but a lot of our defence and midfield play in the Dutch league and all the goalies play here.

These are the defenders being called up, the italic names play in this country: Khalid Boulahrouz, Edson Braafheid, Giovanni van Bronckhorst, John Heitinga, André Ooijer, Joris Mathijsen, Vurnon Anita, Gregory van der Wiel, Ron Vlaar.

Midfield: Ibrahim Afellay, Mark van Bommel, Orlando Engelaar, Nigel de Jong, Stijn Schaars, Wesley Sneijder, Rafael van der Vaart, Demy de Zeeuw

Ajax finished second this year and have four players in the squad (Stekelenburg (first goalkeeper), Anita, van der Wiel and de Zeeuw)
PSV finished third this year and have three players in the squad (Engelaar, Ooijer and Afellay)
Feyenoord fnished fourth this year and have two players in the squad (van Bronckhorst and Vlaar)
AZ became fifth and also have two players in the squad (Schaars and Lens, an attacker)

Thirteen of the total squad play in the Dutch league. Only one of them plays for the champions. How odd is that?
