I wouldn't vote for someone who wonders why you can't open windows on airplanes.

Agree completely. But I don't vote at all based off of social issues because realistically absolutely nothing has changed socially in like the past 30 years (laws wise)

Socially Liberal, Fiscally Conservative.

To Black Me Out - Democrats want social welfare, and to keep big corporations from freely fucking the rest of the people. Republicans want to control your ability to smoke pot, marry who you want, whether or not you can have protection against pregnancy, etc. The only real social issue that Republicans care about is your ability to shoot your gun in the air while calling out, "Yeehaw!" Because that's what America cares about. (Yes, when I think of America, the picture that comes to my head is Dog the Bounty Hunter shooting a shotgun in the air, screaming "Yeehaw!" at the top of his lungs.)

To Mr. Grolton, things haven't changed too much because young people don't vote, so lawmakers don't care what young people think. If you vote more based on social issues, and more young people actually voted, we would see change.

That, plus with a democrat in office republicans in congress will continue to vote against any legislation presented by democrats. Why? Because they're big fucking children and in the eyes of a republican it is better to make a democrat look bad than actually trying to get anything done. How else could you justify nearly all Republicans in congress voting against an act ensuring equal pay to women in the workplace? They think it's more convenient to stifle any signs of progress so when come election time, they can stand there like assholes and smugly ask what has been done, wheres the progress?
With two supreme court justices going out the door and the next president to nominate new ones I would feel comfortable knowing the next justices won't be the type who's mouth water at the thought of overturning Roe V. Wade.

Also realistically conservatism is closer to anarchy than liberalism.
Maybe fiscal conservatism...like, libertarians, but definitely not Mitt Romney's brand of conservatism which has a very socially conservative element to it.
Furthermore, there are different types of anarchism. The actual definition of the word anarchy, which is a classless society, doesn't necessarily mean no order or control in the economy. In fact some anarchists consider anarchy to be a kind of socialism where there is no government because the people are the government, not because everyone's just fending for themselves.

I'm too high to be writing this right now, and I've kind of lost track of what I wanted to say to begin with. I mean, believe what you want though, because anarchism is kind of silly anyway.

Not saying I agree with most of what the GOP says but I have to support somebody right?
No you don't.
I mean, I'll be honest, I already voted for Obama but it was kind of a spur of the moment decision, and more a vote against Mitt Romney than for Obama...I certainly wouldn't say that I support the Democratic party or the Republican party. Both of them are private institutions whose sole purpose is to get their candidates to win elections and as a result neither of the parties can effectively focus on trying to solve the country's problems because they're too busy bickering and obstructing policy for political gain.

And I actually like the Mormons they are consistently awesome people.

Have you seen the episode of South Park where that Mormon family comes to town?

That is absolutely not true.

Furthermore laws concerning women's reproductive rights and gay rights are in the process of changing right now.
(eg transvaginal probes, repeal of don't ask don't tell)

Those things may not affect you but for some people they could have some pretty huge consequences.

Also I think it's important to note that institutionalized sexism and racism are not just things that used to exist. We are ata point where things have improved so much that people our age may not even recognize the progress we've made, but at the same time its important to realize that that progress could still be undone.

I said I was socially liberal but fiscally conservative. I would've voted Obama last election. I think we need a businessman.

I know, I'm saying that those issues are still issues, and in fact are probably more important to consider in this election than they were in the last one. Epecially since Paul Ryan is on the ticket.

And don't even get me started on the fallacies of the idea that government should be run like a business. Government is not a business, its a government. Government promotes domestic tranquility, provides for defense, promotes general welfare, etc. Businesses make a profit. Those goals are very different.
