i.e. the Dean Palomino. One of the smoothest guitars I've ever played and Dean doesn't impress me often.

anyone know any ways to reduce the amount of buzzing that the strings make? Or am I just playing it wrong?

Heavier strings will stop that if you're playing downtuned, otherwise I'm not really sure

Two strings broke on my ooooooooooooold acoustic guitar, so I tuned them down similar to a friend's bass guitar. It's gonna be a real rags-to-riches story.

And it's obviously among the most retarded ideas I've ever had.

Oh and what bass guitar should I get? I really want to learn one now Sad

I usually play standard tuning, so yeah.... It's not that bad though, just sometimes annoying, not sure if other people hear it as much as I do when I'm playing.

So, I think I know the answer to this question, but I'll ask anyways. What's the best way to learn to sing and play guitar at the same time? My guess is practice like fuck. Any easier ideas?

Honestly it took me a while of playing guitar to be able to sing / play but once I got one song down I just started learning other songs easier and easier.

Start with a really, really simple song and try not to concentrate too hard on the guitar / singing. It doesn't matter if it sounds like shit. This is hard to do because you KNOW you can play that song on guitar better or you KNOW you can sing that song better than you are but you just kinda gotta let it go for now because you're doing both at once and it's not gonna sound as good as you're used to. For instance, my first song I ever learned to play and sing was Green Day - All By Myself.

It also really helped me to learn songs that were in the Lyric / Chord format as opposed to actual tablature because reading the lyrics and the chords at the same time prevents you from getting lost and having to stop / start over and stuff. And of course always make sure you have the song on ready to listen to because if you get a little confused about the timing of a certain lyric / chord progression you can kinda listen to it a few times and really get that part down so you don't have to stop the next time through.

I would discourage you from trying to play / sing along with the song while it's playing as well. You're just gonna waste your attention span trying to stay in sync with the song and end up fucking up even more.

P.S. Take my advise with a grain of salt because I still sound like shit... ;P

Thanks! I've been using the lyric/chord format for a while now. It seems that I have trouble singing when the strumming pattern get's harder. The first song I could sing and play fully was Joy. (2 chords ftw!) And that strumming pattern is pretty easy.

And you're like a million times better then me.

same. I usually try to fool around and get more clean with chord changes. Though I really should re learn all the scales I used to know. I knew 10 at one point, now I know 2.
