so yeah, she just did the solo tour with tom. i missed her at the first show i went to, but kind of had no choice but to watch her in CT and I was kind of iffy about her. BUT-- the last song she played kind of had me hooked on her. i got her CD and I haven't stopped listening to it since.

I'm particularly nuts about the bookends, "all you want," and "swear to god." did anyone else dig her?

It took me a while to "get" what she was doing when I saw her, but within the last 3 or 4 songs I got pretty into it.

I saw her a month or so ago when she played at my school with Franz Nicolay. I liked her music and I love the sound of the ukulele, but I didn't like the really rude but trying to be cute stage presence she had, it kind of turned me off.
I was with Mark not paying attention when she played at Tom's solo show, but I didn't feel like I missed much.
I'll stick to listening to her recorded stuff.

I've known about her a long while cause of my friend Emit who plays ukulele (www.myspace.com/liketimebackwards). I liked her music alot, and I liked seeing her live, but after the crowed bumrushed the stage during Tom's set she was trying to get everyone off after the set, but was really mean about it. She came up to me when I was waiting for my friend to grab our stuff (well away from Tom, mind you) and was all "alright, leave," and I'm just like "I'm waiting for my friend to get our stuff," and she's all "that's nice, grab your stuff and go." I really wish I said "dude, do you see me over there trying to molest Tom? Calm the fuck down, I'm grabbing my stuff and I'll be just a moment, now leave me alone," alas, I really didn't wanna start anything. So she's not just a bitch on stage, but also off.

She was cool, like really cool. I loved her smartass comments between songs and she did a sweet rendition of "Friday I'm in Love" at the Cleveland show

Yeah dude, it really disappointed me, cause I like her music and also cause her on stage shtick sort of reminded me of myself (I too am a sarcastic smartass, and Jewish,) and it was also cool the fact she danced with the crowed, well cept she was actually trying to hold most of us back, ya know, cause Tom obviously isn't used to being surrounded by people while playing or anything crazy like that... but at the same time I could understand cause the crust punk kids were pretty terrible. I think she thought I was one of them after the set or something cause they were all near me, except I shower, shave, and wear decent clothing... but after she did that, I still went back up to compliment Tom and say goodbye... so HA!

Maybe she was just being possessive / protective - Warren was telling me that they've known her forever, and used to hang out with a group in her kitchen "back in the day" when she was just a little punk kid dragging them home after shows.

He was real excited about her new album, proud to see an old friend doing well. He especially likes the bread song.

she's pretty great and she just jumped onto the "bill" for my march 4th house show. can't wait.
