... but worse.
I'm a vodka girl, just never with coke because a) it tastes like shit, b) coca cola is a piece of shit transnational money-grabbing life-wrecking wife-raping corporation, and c) lemonade is obviously superior. Just vodka and lemonade is pretty decent hangover wise, because it doesn't have too much shit in it. Sometimes I drink cocktails though and it makes me spew on my shoes. Good times, ladies and gentlemen, good times. |

You've clearly never had a good stout.
But yes, a lot of beer does taste like that. _________________ "Would Hamlet have felt the delicious fascination of suicide if he hadn't had an audience, and lines to speak?" ~ Jean Genet

| Haha, I could've guessed dad would like stout! I'm a bit of a fan myself, although I can't say I've tried a wide range cuz once I'd had Sam Smith's I haven't needed to look for another. Black Sheep's Riggwelter and Theakston's Old Peculiar are probably two of my favourites, being a Yorkshire lad. What are American ales like? _________________ The sun's always rising in the sky somewhere...| noni wrote: | | morals are for people who aren't hot enough to get any. |

| American ales are......not good. Canadian ales are better. They are similar to American beers, but they seem to want to make things that taste good in Canada, wheras in America the focus is on making something that would be good to binge drink at a frat party and not cost a lot. I'm not kidding. But Canadian ale is what actually made me like beer. Molson Canadian tastes nice. And there are some local brews made right here in Alberta that are fantastic. Big Rock makes a wide range of things, ales, stouts, lager, and so on, all of it made right in my own backyard. It's called Big Rock after a really big rock that the guy who founded the company liked up in the mountains. That's Canada for you - we make big rocks tourist attractions. Europe has good booze. But they've had more practice. I think North America will turn on some choice brews in time. Maybe not America, with it's love of Budweiser, but Canada and Mexico are getting there. _________________ "Would Hamlet have felt the delicious fascination of suicide if he hadn't had an audience, and lines to speak?" ~ Jean Genet

| Haha, sounds good. I'll keep an eye out, a hypermarket near me has a huuuugggge range of international ales. No wonder I haven't heard of any American ales though, just lager. Eurgh. On a side note, European wine is massively overrated, for the most part. _________________ The sun's always rising in the sky somewhere...| noni wrote: | | morals are for people who aren't hot enough to get any. |

| Wine in general is overrated, but have you had a good German white wine? I don't know what they do over there, but Jesus, they make some awesome wine. Pick up a cheap bottle of a German late harvest wine. That'll jiggle your boo boo. I've been enjoying the wines of British Columbia lately, but mostly because it's about 10$ for 2 litres of the stuff. The fact that it tastes nice is incidental. TEN DOLLARS FOR 2 LITRES! _________________ "Would Hamlet have felt the delicious fascination of suicide if he hadn't had an audience, and lines to speak?" ~ Jean Genet

| Haha! Sounds like my kinda wine, cheap and cheerful. I've always been a fan of Californian and Australian wines, you know, the mass produced ones. They taste the same year in year out and are pretty cheap, so value for money. Rosé though... That's the work of Beelzebub. _________________ The sun's always rising in the sky somewhere...| noni wrote: | | morals are for people who aren't hot enough to get any. |

I don't get people who do shots. Different strokes for different folks, I guess.
But seriously.....you should try different kinds of beer. There is one for every taste. I've even heard rumours of a chocolate stout, which is just too good to be true, really.
But me, I'm a strictly gin and whiskey guy. I've been moving more into wines these days, and I only ever really have a beer if I'm out somewhere having dinner, as a good beer compliments a soy burger and fries mightily. _________________ "Would Hamlet have felt the delicious fascination of suicide if he hadn't had an audience, and lines to speak?" ~ Jean Genet
