How can you take responsibility when a vast chunk of the time, you arent being told the entire truth?
Whether its coming from the government or activists, you usually never get a full picture, so its hard to take sides.

Even if you did know the whole story, the majority of Americans wont care enough to even acknowledge you, let alone link arms in some political revolt that would never work.

You just answered your own question. Those who are responsible are those who do not care or do nothing to prevent what is happening. I don't want to sound cliche, but if our founding fathers had your same attitude on "political revolts" we would still be under British rule. I'm not saying that a political revolt was necessary to keep the Bush Administration in line. All that was necessary was citizens who were fed up with the past 8 years to run for public office and get enough votes to win.
