PostSubject: The Bible!   Wed Aug 26, 2009 5:10 am

Yes I know there is a religion thread, but I think this should have its own discussion.

http://www.answersingenesis.org/articles/aid/v2/n1/unicorns-in-bible

http://www.answersingenesis.org/articles/1999/11/05/dinosaurs-and-the-bible

I find it disturbing that someone would actually believe this.

Haha this is great.

However, scientists do not dig up anything labeled with those ages. They only uncover dead dinosaurs (i.e., their bones), and their bones do not have labels attached telling how old they are. The idea of millions of years of evolution is just the evolutionists’ story about the past. No scientist was there to see the dinosaurs live through this supposed dinosaur age. In fact, there is no proof whatsoever that the world and its fossil layers are millions of years old. No scientist observed dinosaurs die.

Hahahaha really?

When I was seven or eight I tried to read the bible. It was like a children's version.

Then that lady turned into a pillar of salt and I realized I was an atheist.

To think of the biblical unicorn as a fantasy animal is to demean God’s Word, which is true in every detail.

lol!

Tolkien is better with words. Much more eloquent.

Have you read the entire bible? It actually has some really great messages about love and forgiveness. Unfortunately, too many people who read the bible don't read it in the context it was written (i.e. thousands of years ago) and they use it as a weapon instead of a tool to promote love and understanding.

We have Michael Bolton for love and forgiveness.

I don't know if it's the same in the English bible, but the Dutch one is reeeeeaaaaaallllllly hard to read entirely. The way that thing is written is just terrible. Like it was written by a couple of people for whom waking up is the most exciting thing of their life. It's boring.

I'm convinced that I've read more of the Bible than most Christians and I didn't even finish 1/3 of the fuckin thing.

I went through 12 years of Catholic school. I can tell you, that, the point of %80 of the bible stories have the final lesson of Love, forgiveness, or God creating out of love. We even learned that the early parts of the bible were written, while the Jewish people were in exile, because they needed something to believe. The point, to take away, was that god created us out of love, and we should always have faith in him.

I know way more about the bible than I want to, but I guess that's okay, because I can defend or attack it accordingly, haha. People like to use it to keep others in line, trying to use it as a scare, it's ridiculous.

Ancient Greek unicorns, however, are pagan myth, which makes them demons. Turtle

It does have a good message, I just think its fucking retarded to believe in it literally.

You don't need the bible, some other book or meditation to be a good person.
