Well said. If there's anything I think the government SHOULD tax/ help pay for, it's the keep it citizens educated and healthy. Health care and education are two things I am okay with getting taxed for, I really don't mind a single bit. _________________ And Maybe we'll never see our efforts indicated maybe we'll never amount to anything We're not looking back, we're not making compromises We are willing to dare, we are willing to believe

| The problem with private insurance/ healthcare corporations is that they have a motive for profit. Money is the underlying goal when it should be the treatment of patients. The corporations can give two shits about the people they decline, but this is what happens when you let a private company do what the government should be doing. A great example is the "kids for cash" scandal in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania. A 'for profit' juvenile detention center was making money off of the kids it locked up. Many of the teens were held months longer than they were sentenced. The two local judges had been bribed by the company to rule harshly on juvenile defendants in order to boost attendance. The judges also gave the company power to decide when the children were ready to be released. Crimes like these are why we shouldn't give private corporations duties that the government should be performing. On the note of the health care system in Canada, it is made out to be much worse than it actually is. My friend's mother was a nurse in Canada. She's said that the long lines and waiting lists are grossly exaggerated in the states, mainly due to the insurance companies propaganda machines. |

| Hell, in the UK our own press exaggerates the waiting lists, so I hate to think what it's like through the Fox Filter-o-matic (patent pending). _________________ The sun's always rising in the sky somewhere...| noni wrote: | | morals are for people who aren't hot enough to get any. |

This weekend I went to three different stores, all of which had their collections of Glenn Beck books on display. So I grabbed a bunch of other books and covered him up. That fucking guy... |

| My mom told me a few years ago about how someone she knows does the same thing with Ann Coulter books. I've been doing it ever since.
To get back on topic, I'm probably going to a maternal health care debate for Amnesty International tonight. It'll be good not only because I haven't been to a meeting in over a month, but it'll be educational and very interesting. |

| I work at Best Buy and I always take Against Me! cd's or cd's of other bands I like and I put them in the front display whenever I walk past the music section. _________________ I'd rather steal your whiskey than your heart in conversation.
