Fuck the Police. Watch that video all the way through, and listen to what Mayor Uncle Tom has to say, "the police showed remarkable restraint." The dude flew out of the driver's side window as the van rolled, is laying there unconscious and then 5-7 good old boys kick, and punch him. That's remarkable restraint? The video makes Rodney King look like a tickle fest.

Has it seemed to any of you that there is a marked increase in the severity and frequency of attacks like these? Fuck this pisses me off.

What about this fuck? Showing up in court every day wearing a bullet proof vest with police escort. Maybe if Oscar Grant had worn a bullet proof vest when he was out celebrating the New Year he'd still be alive. I can't wait until he's acquitted of murder, or alternately convicted of manslaughter and given a light sentence, and the public exacts its pound of flesh.

What really irks me is that these types of abuses seem to go down more in states with strict gun control laws. Here in Georgia, where concealed carry is legal and widely exercised (I have my concealed carry permit) the police seem to have a little more respect for the rule of law. In the People Republic of Californiastan where one cannot legally exercise the right to bear arms, it seems the police are significantly more cavalier in their attitudes towards trampling the individual's rights to remain breathing and not dead in a train station. I'm glad to see that gun control has cut down on street violence and that criminals respect those laws and don't continue to illegally carry and use those weapons .

Remember kids, you have the absolute right to defend yourself from unlawful arrest, up to, and including, using deadly force. But I guess that won't help you if you're surrounded by 5 officers, spread eagle on some cold tile, and one of them decides to execute you.

At least those cops were fired. Most of the time they just get paid suspension.
I can't stand cops...
I mean, some of them yes, if I am in danger and I call the cops I appreciate their assistance. But more often than not they can't do anything for me anyway, seeing as how the law is mostly designed to protect property owning crackers. At least in my experience.
Cops are not trained adequately either.They're like a bunch of attack dogs with no accounting for variables like mental or physical health problems. There was this kid that lived around where I do that was here illegally and he got arrested for some insignificant misdemeanor, and was afraid he was going to get deported so he tried to escape and of course couldn't, so they beat the shit out of him and he hung himself in county. No suicide watch, no medical attention, nothing.
And that is not the only person I know of who has just been shoved up in a jail cell to rot even if they're out of their minds.

I'm not saying that there are no good cops either...its just I've never met any of them.

There are some pretty badass cops here in San Marcos, but there are also many, many prick cops. There really isn't an in-between. Just a few on each end of the spectrum.

Yes fuck the police, but gun control laws? I support them in nations where the police are not routinely armed. The state must never overpower the citizen.

I'm pretty sure - though this is completely unsourced - Canada's gun-related crime rate is significantly lower than that of the US.

Why should people need to protect themselves? This isn't a war zone.

Allowing people weaponry to "protect themselves" against "criminals" just seems like scaremongering to me. How can we aspire to live in a safe society when everyone feels the need to be armed to the teeth?

And how much good does the ability to carry a weapon really do people? How many lives are saved compared to the number of lives lost as a direct result of there being weapons so much more readily available to the public?

It's not impossible to get hold of a weapon over here, but it's certainly not the walk in the park the papers would have people believe.

I'm not sure, I'd need to look up the figures again, but I'd be very sceptical if you're telling me the US has a lower rate of gun crime than the UK.

My brother is a cop and he's also a really really big N.W.A. fan. We always listen to "Fuck tha Police" when we go driving together.
